When: Weekly on Monday afternoons
Weekly Monday
Venue: The Sale

The Spanish intermediate (1) group meets upstairs at the Sale Hotel on Mondays, 2-4 pm during term times, and sometimes during holidays depending on how many group members are available.

We have recently started following a course book – “Aula 3 Internacional Plus” 2021 edition. This includes discussion, listening, and writing exercises. There are 12 modules and we are working through the second of these.

Additionally, all members can contribute to the class: sometimes someone has written a short Spanish piece to read out, after which we have a short discussion about it in Spanish. We sometimes play a game, or read and discuss a newspaper or magazine article, or revise some grammar.

We always have a novel on the go: currently this is “Historia del Año” by Juan Fernández. We have read a few of his books previously and found them helpful as well as entertaining and very readable. We take turns in class to read a section, then translate – helping each other out when necessary.

We are a relaxed and informal group. In order to maintain this, and to keep the current structure and format, we feel the maximum workable group size is 12 members, and currently we are at capacity.
